Labor Day Weekend in Houston
Labor Day Weekend is coming up soon and with this being the last real weekend of Summer, we’ve compiled a list of a few events going on around the Houston area to help you celebrate!
Friday September 4th
Labor Day Weekend Firework Celebration
They will be having fireworks both nights of September 5 – 6 at Waterway Square at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy a spectacular fireworks show starting at approximately 8:55 p.m. along with live music, vendor booths, and more!
BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival 2015 (all weekend)
Head on down to Galveston Island over Labor Day weekend for the 6th Annual Brew Masters Craft Beer Festival at Moody Gardens Hotel. Additional activities include live music, fireworks at Palm Beach, educational events, food and more. Remember to drink responsibly- 21 and over!
Houston Comic Con
Meet your favorite creators and celebrities during this three day event at George R. Brown Convention Center. Enjoy art, video games, costumes, family fun, and more.
Saturday September 5th
First Saturday Arts Market
Browse fine art and eclectic goods at the free monthly First Saturday Arts Market in the heart of the Houston Heights. In addition to shopping and browsing, you’ll find live music, food truck bites, and more.
6th Annual Big Dipper Dash
Kick off Houston’s Human Trafficking Awareness Month with the 6th Annual Big Dipper Dash at Stude Park in the Heights. Proceeds from this event will go directly to the outreach, prevention and educational activities of UAHT, whose mission is to end human trafficking. The event opens at 4pm. Run starts at 5pm.
Screen on the Green
Catch a free flick in the shadow of Houston’s skyline at Discovery Green. Arrive one hour early for contests and activities. Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (G)
Sunday September 6th
Brews, Blues and BBQ at Karbach Brewing Co.
Relax this Labor Day weekend with craft brews and live music during Karbach’s Brews, Blues and BBQ event. Guests will enjoy an evening of live music and food trucks. No admission fee included, just regular brew prices. Remember to drink responsibly- 21 and over!
Houston Texans Kickoff Party
Kickoff the football season with the Texans NFL Ambassadors, cheerleaders and mascot TORO at the Kemah Boardwalk.
Monday September 7th (Labor Day)
Free Day of Yoga
Get your yoga on at the Rothko Chapel Plaza. Live music begins at 9am, followed by a yoga class at led by Texas Yoga Association and the Breakfast Yoga Club at 10am. A juice cart will also be onsite with thirst-quenching beverages available to purchase. This event is kid-friendly and free with registration.
Labor Day Bravado BBQ at Royal Oak
Royal Oak is opening early for Labor Day to welcome the guys from Bravado Spice into the kitchen to cook up Texas style brisket, ribs, garlic sausage along with all the fixin’s.
