Meet The A-Team: Our Med Center ~ West U Moving and Storage Concierge, Cody
This February we are continuing our series, shedding light on some of our amazing team members! Our A-Team feature this month is our Medical Center ~ West University Moving & Storage Concierge, Cody. His unique family history commitment to putting the customer experience first, make him more than worthy of being our team member of the month.
Cody and his three older brothers were born and briefly raised in Germany. His father was a contractor for the army when he met Cody’s mother, a German citizen. The family was only in Europe for a little over a year until they moved to Texas, where his father is from. Cody comes from a large family and has 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Along with he and his siblings, his parents fostered animal rescue dogs all throughout his younger years. The family moved often and lived in many different locations across Texas, including Waco, Austin, Round Rock, and Houston. His older brothers are natural entrepreneurs and began a garage door company in Baltimore, MD. He followed in their footsteps, working in the same industry in Texas for many years. Outside of work, Cody spends free time with his friends and family, playing board games or Xbox, and watching football.
Experience with the A-Team
As a leasing and sales consultant, Cody helps people find the right spaces and ensures they are properly welcomed into the Amazing Spaces family. Most of his responsibility accounts for support through movers and transportation— this often comes in the form of assisting customers by calling rental truck companies when customers are in a bind and in need of moving support.
He was recently promoted to Moving & Storage Concierge, which has expanded his responsibility to focus on marketing and building relationships with apartment complexes and movers, in addition to his current tasks. Congrats, Cody!
His favorite part about working with the team is the ability to take on multiple responsibilities as he helps customers throughout the day. Each day looks different and unique and Cody enjoys that aspect of his job. He recalls one of many instances where he put customer service first and made a positive impact on the Amazing Spaces guests! A customer came into the facility for the first time about 30 minutes before they were supposed to close. Instead of closing and asking the customer to come back the next day, he offered to stay after hours to help them purchase and sign the paperwork. They ended up reserving five storage units! Additionally, Cody went above and beyond and helped the customer by providing them a list of preferred movers to assist with their big move. In fact, these customers were so pleased with his kindness and assistance that they purchased three more units a few months later.
