Houston Neighborhood Spotlight: West University/Rice Village
There’s one word that perfectly describes this adorable neighborhood: charming. West University is home to Rice University, one of the most beautiful and sought-after campuses, there’s plenty of delicious food, rich culture, shopping, beautiful homes and tree-lined streets. Not to mention, our Medical Center/West U Amazing Spaces location is situated right in the center of it all. Be sure to stop in during your visit to the neighborhood and enjoy a cup of coffee on us!

Shop in Rice Village—Rice Village is the ultimate place to shop, with more than 300 shops in the immediate 16-block area! The village is home to small, eclectic shops and boutiques as well as retail stores like Kendra Scott, Chico’s, and Banana Republic. It’s truly a unique experience with the variety of shopping available, whether it be for the home, clothing, jewelry, stationary or books!
Chamber Music Houston—Enjoy a traditional string quartets, piano quartets, piano trios performance and more at the Chamber Music Houston. Performances take place in the beautiful Stude Concert Hall on the Rice University campus and include internationally acclaimed performers.
Main Street Theatre—A small and intimate venue that offers a great experience for the entire family. They produce incredible shows and offer classes and programs for children!
Moody Center for the Arts— This striking, contemporary 50,000 square-foot building is nationally acclaimed and has received multiple awards for its unique architecture. The center includes a museum quality art gallery, a multi-media gallery for video and installation art, numerous maker spaces and studio classrooms.
Rice University Trail—Enjoy a walk or run on this 3-mile trail while admiring the beauty of the university as well as the beautiful oak trees that line the property.

Benjy’s in the Village—Whether it be for brunch, lunch, dinner, or drinks this upscale American eatery won’t disappoint. With a stylish lounge, open and airy, two- story design, delicious food and fabulous waitstaff, it’s truly unlike any other experience.
Local Foods—(Our favorite!) Local Foods offers Houstonians an ever-changing menu of grab-and-go items and made-to-order sandwiches, salads and sides. Almost every ingredient used in the restaurant’s menu is available for sale, including local produce, homemade artisan snacks, as well as other Texas-derived products.
The Chocolate Bar—Calling all chocolate lovers! This eclectically-decorated space offers a step into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory with all things chocolate including ice cream, cookies, cakes, pies, and chocolate covered novelties.
