Electronics Recycling Available at CompuCycle Locations

Important CompuCycle Update: CompuCycle has regretfully removed Amazing Spaces as a drop off location under their services.

From August 2017 moving forward, all Amazing Spaces properties will be unable to access electronic recycling items.  As of December 2016, Amazing Spaces’ five Houston locations collected a combined total of 404,679 lbs. of electronic waste keeping extremely harmful materials out of our landfills and streams.  CompuCycle will accept your electronic waste at their own drop-off locations moving forward.  Find a CompuCycle location near you. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Why should I recycle my electronics instead of throwing them away?

Electronics are manufactured using dangerous chemicals that can leak into our community’s soil and ground water if they’re not disposed of properly. Dropping off your old electronics with CompuCycle ensures that nothing goes to a landfill. CompuCycle maintains a zero landfill policy, and requires each of their downstream recyclers to do the same.

E-waste represents 2% of America’s trash in landfills, but it equals 70% of overall toxic waste. The extreme amount of lead in electronics alone causes damage in the central and peripheral nervous systems, the blood and the kidneys. With the production and consumer use of electronics increasing exponentially, proper recycling practices for e-waste is a top priority.

What standards does CompuCycle use to process my e-waste?

CompuCycle only uses E-Stewards and R2 certified/committed recyclers to process your e-waste. These certifications are the strictest in the world for processing e-waste. R2 and E-Stewards standards are certified/committed recyclers. These certifications are the strictest in the world for processing e-waste. CompuCycle is Houston’s first R2 Certified, EPA-recognized electronic recycling solutions provider. Their business focuses on refurbishing equipment for resale, reuse of components, and environmentally responsible e-cycling solutions.
